Co-founder • 2022
originally founded in 2002, the society died out with the graduation of its founders. In 2021, a friend and I decided it was time to revive it
Fueled by the Netflix docuseries “Drive to Survive”, F1 was becoming all the rage and growing in popularity within the United States. Simultaneously, we were seeing lots of interest in sustainable transportation and the rollout of autonomous driving technology from companies such as Waymo & Tesla. A close friend of mine and I had been following F1 closely for a few years and would frequently talk about races and our interest in motorsport. Once in a while, we’d joke about inviting F1 drivers to come to Harvard for a speaker series (why not right?) or somehow getting some money to go karting for free. Eventually, we began to talk with other students and realized Harvard was lacking a space for people to gather, socialize, and connect over the automotive and/or motorsports industry. So we sent it and started HUAS - I had no idea what it would grow into.
after being operational for one semester, we’ve built something pretty special! 400+ active members and over $40,000 in sponsorships
